Nature & Forest

Step away from the noise and reconnect with the natural world.

Nature has always been more than a backdrop to what I do. I believe that spending time outdoors can give us space to slow down, notice what is around us and reconnect with ourselves — without pressure to achieve or perform.

My approach is gentle and person-centred. You do not need to be experienced outdoors, particularly fit, or good at being “mindful”. There is no right way to connect with nature. Sometimes it can simply mean noticing the light through the trees, listening to birdsong, feeling the ground beneath your feet or giving yourself permission to stop for a while.

Connecting with the Living World

For me, connecting with nature is not a new wellbeing technique. People have found companionship, meaning, healing and a sense of belonging in the land for generations. Our relationship with trees, plants, seasons and the changing landscape is woven through our folklore, traditions and everyday lives.

My approach draws on that connection to the living world — slowing down, noticing, listening and allowing ourselves to be part of the landscape rather than simply passing through it. It may include mindful walking, sitting with trees, seasonal reflection, learning about the plants around us, quiet contemplation or simply following our curiosity.

You may have heard similar practices described as Forest Bathing or Shinrin-yoku, but I bring them into my own nature-based practice here in middle England, shaped by the landscape, seasons and traditions around us. Oh, and the trees, I can’t forget the amazing trees in the spaces I use!

Nature-based experiences

Tree Therapy

Slow down and notice the living world around you through gentle walking, quiet pauses and sensory connection. Tree Therapy is where we connect with the Tree beings in the space, meet them where they are and understand their guidance.

Seasonal & Earth-based Practice

Reconnect with the rhythms of the year through the changing seasons, plants, folklore and the landscape around us. An earth-centred approach that leaves space for reflection, curiosity and our own relationship with the natural world.

Guided Nature Experiences

Spend time outdoors through gentle guided walks, seasonal gatherings and nature-based experiences. Each is shaped around the people, place and time of year, with space to explore, connect and simply be — without pressure or expectation.

Ways to experience nature with YANAGaia

Whether you would like some quiet time in nature, a shared seasonal experience or gentle support reconnecting with the outdoors, there are different ways to explore this with YANAGaia. Experiences can be adapted to the people, place and season — there is no expectation to keep up, perform or experience nature in any particular way.

Nature connection, your way

There is no prescribed way to connect with nature. We can walk, wander, sit beneath a tree, explore the seasons, notice plants and wildlife, or simply stop and be still for a while.
